Excellent high temperature resistance: the service temperature ranges from – 60 ℃ to 250 ℃. Excellent oil resistance: the resistance to high temperature fuel oil, sulfur-containing lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, diester oil, silicate ester and other oils is better than other rubbers.
Excellent resistance to strong corrosive medium and strong oxidant; Its stability in strong corrosive media such as fuming nitric acid, concentrated sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, hydrogen peroxide and concentrated alkali is better than other rubbers. Good mechanical properties, electrical insulation and radiation resistance. Good resistance to high vacuum.

Fluororubber Categories
Type 1
Di- or copolymers of hexafluoropropylene (HFP) and vinylidene fluoride (VDF). These are the standard FPM types. They generally contain around 66 percent by weight of fluorine.
Type 2
Terpolymers of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE), HFP and VDF. These elastomers have a higher fluorine content than type 1 FPMs (between 68 and 70 weight percent), making them more resistant to chemicals and high temperatures.
Type 3
Terpolymers of TFE, a fluorinated vinyl ether (FVE) and VDF. In comparison to type 1 and 2 fluorocarbon rubbers, these polymers have better flexibility at low temperatures. They contain between 62 and 68 weight percent fluorine.
Type 4
Terpolymers of TFE, propylene and VDF. Base resistance is improved in this FPM type, although its swelling properties, especially in hydrocarbons, are less good. A fluorine content of around 67 weight percent is typical in these elastomers.
Type 5
Pentapolymers of TFE, HFP, ethylene, an FVE and VDF. These polymers are also resistant to hydrogen sulfide, even at high temperatures.
Applications of Fluororubber
In the automotive field, fluororubber is mainly used in high temperature and high pressure environments such as engine, transmission, brake system and fuel system to ensure the performance and safety of automobiles.
In the petrochemical industry, fluororubber is mainly used in pipelines, valves, seals and rubber linings under high temperature and pressure, strong corrosion and oxidation environment, which can ensure the safety and stability of production and transportation.
In the aerospace field, fluororubbers are widely used in key parts such as engines, fuel systems, hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems, which can withstand the high temperature and pressure and strong oxidation environment, ensuring flight safety.
Key Features Of Fluororubber
Chemical resistance: Fluororubber should exhibit excellent resistance to oils, fuels, and solvents.
Temperature tolerance: The material should withstand extreme temperatures.
Mechanical properties: Look for high tensile strength and elasticity to ensure durability under stress.
Compression set resistance: A low compression set is crucial for maintaining sealing properties over time.
Flame resistance: Fluororubber should have inherent flame retardant properties, making it suitable for high-risk environments.
Color and appearance: The aesthetic aspects should align with the project requirements, as fluororubber can be available in various colors.
Cost-effectiveness: Prices May vary; competitive rates typically range from rs. 800 to rs. 2000 per kg, depending on quality.
Storage Method of Fluororubber
Temperature: Storage temperatures should not exceed 50°C. Low temperatures are not permanently harmful provided the rubber items are handled carefully and not distorted. When taken from low temperatures items should be raised to approximately 30°C before they are used.
Humidity: Optimum humidity is about 65% in a draft-free atmosphere.
Light: Protection from direct sunlight and strong artificial light with a high ultraviolet content is important. Unless packed in opaque containers, it is advisable to cover windows with red or orange screens or coatings.
Contact with liquid and semi-solid material: Contact with liquids and semi-solid materials, particularly solvents, such as oils or greases should be avoided unless so packed by the manufacturer.
Contact with metals: Metals such as manganese, iron and copper, or copper alloys can have a harmful effect on rubber. A layer of paper, polyethylene or cellophane will keep these separated.
Contact with non-metals: Contact with other rubbers or creosotes should be avoided.
Cleaning: Organic solvents such as trichloroethylene, carbon tetrachloride and petroleum are the most harmful agents. Soap and water and methylated spirits are the least harmful, and all parts should be dried at room temperature before use.
